Hallo zusammen,
Jeon Somi ist eine südkoreanisch/kanadisch-niederländische Popsängerin und in Korea ein absoluter K-Pop Star. Einen Namen machte sich Somi, wie sie früher hieß, durch ihre Teilnahme in den Castingshows Sixteen und Produce 101. Zudem war sie Mitglied in der Girlgroup I.O.I. Ihre erste Single „Flower, Wind and You“ veröffentlichte sie gemeinsam mit Huihyeon, Yoojung und Chungha. 2019 kam mit „Birthday“ ihre erste eigene Single raus, bevor sie mit „DUMB DUMB“ und „What Are You Waiting For“ den weltweiten Durchbruch schaffte. Heute erscheint ihr erstes Album „XOXO“. In der gleichnamigen Single verarbeitet sie die unerwiderte Liebe und den Schmerz, dass sie von einer andern Person ersetzt wurde. Nicht nur auf der Single, auf dem ganzen Album „XOXO“ beschäftigt sich die 20-Jährige mit dem Thema Liebe und Herzschmerz. Darüber hinaus hat ihr erstes Album natürlich eine große Bedeutung für sie:

These songs were made and recorded at different points in my life. I think even how I sound on each song is distinct and listening to this album reminds me of those times I was in the booth recording, and everything that went into making this album. Das Debüt umfasst insgesamt 8 Pop-Tracks, darunter auch ihr Megahit „Birthday“ mit dem sie über 79 Millionen Streams generierte, sowie die bereits erwähnten Tracks „DUMB DUMB“ und „What You Waiting For“.
